The people behind Johnny Doughnuts are donut fanatics. Their recipes date back to the 1920s and anchor the brand's strategy: bring classic American handcrafted donuts to Northern California.
We helped launch the Bay Area classic, and Johnny Doughnuts is now frying up a little hole of happiness in 3 brick and mortar locations, as well as a fleet of food trucks and custom-built vans. Rooted in nostalgia with a modern twist, the branding is approachable and celebrates the undeniable joy of biting into a warm freshly baked donut made with the finest high-quality ingredients.

What started as a food truck has become a Bay Area movement. It all started with the design and launch of our beautifully simplistic food truck, core brand identity system, and food packaging which pairs metallic gold with a dough-inspired soft color palette. We hand-lettered the brand's logo design and created donut iconography that is equal parts fancy Art Deco and classic American nostalgia.
As the brand expanded, we developed and designed branded environmental signage and menu board systems for their Marin Country Mart location, ensuring brand consistency and easy ordering for customers.
Our branding work for Johnny Doughnuts is no stranger to the spotlight. Our donut truck design co-stared with Denzel Washington in Oscar-nominated 'Roman J. Israel, Esq.' after the daughter of the movie's production designer came across our branding and food truck design, which embodied the emotional tone of the scene and its bright, airy oceanside location.
