Making over a sea-to-skincare beauty brand
Facialworks is a sea-inspired facial bar and skincare brand that uses only natural, clean, and non-toxic sea-to-skin ingredients. Millennials are the brand's biggest customer, and they are naturally drawn to the fun, social, self-care experience of going to these signature facial bar locations across Southern California.
We launched “We Love Your Face” with the introduction to CleanSea, the brand's sustainable skincare line. Our strategy – reimagine the brand’s voice and tagline to extend the experience of being there in-person and deliver branding and packaging design with ocean-inspired cues to bring a little bit of quintessential SoCal beachy lifestyle to customers anywhere around the world.

BRAND IDENTITY SYSTEM
Our approach emphasized a clean and natural brand identity, with eco-conscious recyclable glass packaging. Bottles and boxes showcase abstract patterns evoking cues from the ocean that were designed using watercolors, salts, and paint, natural materials that come from the earth, to further emphasize the natural source of their superior ingredients.
We paired cool blues and seafoam green evocative of the sea with sun kissed copper and gold foil to bring feelings of a warm sunny day on the beach. We used clear glossy varnishes on soft touch boxes and screen-printed graphics on clear and frosted bottles, for a textured beachy sophistication, while the design feels clinical and trust-worthy for your skin.
Single-use plastic waste are filling up our oceans annually. Facialworks cuts back on single-use plastic waste with refillable glass packaging and refill stations at one of their flagship locations in Southern California's Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Dana Point, and Irvine.
