The Team

NICOLE LAFAVE
LaFave is a Michigan girl at heart. In fact, she still finds herself gushing on about cider mills, Fago red pop and knee deep snowy afternoons. After receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Wayne State University in Detroit, LaFave spent 5 years around the metro Detroit area working in the design industry. Her love for fall and winter dressing was half of the reason she quickly found herself as a Michigan transplant in Los Angeles. After studying knitwear and footwear design at The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, LaFave began co-launching Omelle luxury footwear in 2007. She is widely recognized for her role as the Creative Director and Co-Founder of Omelle. LaFave branded and graphically built the company from the ground up and is responsible for the product development and design of Omelle’s beautifully hand-crafted shoes.

Despite the fact that southern California’s constantly sunny climate would be a mid-western shoe designer’s dream, 5 years at her loft in Venice, CA was plenty. Thrilled about rainy season, umbrellas and sweater weather LaFave took over nine years of award-winning design experience north to San Francisco. Working from her mint green Edwardian with a cute red front door, LaFave is making footprints in Bay area and is consistently hard at work to keep her passions alive and her clients happy.

Quick Note:
LaFave’s branding and graphic work has been published in several international publications including Pie Books, Communication Arts and PRINT Magazine’s Regional Design Annual. In addition, her design work for Omelle’s footwear has been featured in numerous national and international magazines and publications online.
